We had a holiday in Ingoldmells in June 1992, an unbelievable 25 years ago. At that time it was a fairly quiet holiday resort on the East Coast in Lincolnshire just a few miles north of Skegness. I took all the following photographs in the morning, starting outside the camp and walking down to Sea Lane which runs from the village east to the promenade. The more recent photographs are from Google Maps.
This is the main entrance to Coastfields Caravan site in June 1992.
This is the same entrance today.
This is a view down Roman Bank towards Sea Lane in June 1992.
Here is the same view today, note the rides in Fantasy Island on the horizon.
Now we come to the area of greatest change, Sea Lane, here is my photograph taken in June 1992, looking west towards the traffic lights at the junction of Roman Way.
Here is the same view now.
The only building still standing in my original photograph is now a Spar Supermarket which is on the other side of the crossroads and not visible in the photo above.
This photograph was taken at Sea Lane at the junction with Roman Way, view west towards the village.
And the same view now, buildings on the left replaced by Fantasy Island.
And now my last photograph of my walk. This is Sea Lane view west just down from the junction with Roman Way.
Here is the same view today.
Hope you have enjoyed my walk down memory lane. Ingoldmells will continue to grow and change in the years to come but in the past 25 years one thing has remained completely unchanged, my relationship with The Lord Jesus, He is forever constant and unchangeable.
